Year 9 Get Hands-On with Medical Science

On 15 July, a group of Year 9 students attended the Medway Medical Fayre at Canterbury Christ Church University's Medway Campus. The event provided an exciting opportunity for students to discover how the science they study in school is applied in healthcare and medical professions.

Throughout the day, students took part in a range of interactive workshops, including CPR training, surgical simulation, radiology, and sessions exploring the heart, brain, respiratory system, eye, and ear. They also had the chance to learn from healthcare professionals working in emergency medicine and other specialist fields.

The fayre introduced students to a wide range of career pathways, including medicine, physiotherapy, paramedic science, speech and language therapy, and radiography. Representatives from several universities and medical schools were on hand to offer advice and answer questions about future study and career opportunities.

The visit was both informative and inspiring, helping students to see the real-world impact of science and encouraging them to consider exciting careers within the healthcare sector. We are very proud of our students, who represented the school excellently throughout the day.
