Year 9 Options
Year 9 students will soon begin their GCSE options process. This is an important time for you and your child, and we understand that this can be an anxious time for anybody. It's vital that you and your child are well informed when making these decisions and we will have a comprehensive programme of support and guidance to ensure that everyone is confident in making the right decisions about the next steps in your child’s education.
- Year 9 Options Evening - Tuesday 28 April 2026, 4pm – 7pm
This evening will allow you and your child to speak with subject teachers and current KS4 students about the specifics of each course to ensure that it is a suitable pathway for your child.
At Crayford Academy we offer a broad and balanced curriculum that not only covers traditional academic subjects but also career focused and creative pathways. We are committed to preparing students for both established careers and the jobs of the future, ensuring they have the skills and knowledge to succeed in an ever-evolving world.
To support you and your child in making informed choices, we will also provide:
- Options booklet (printed copies will be given out on the evening)
- Presentations about each subject’s content and details about the potential future career pathways for students who study them
- Video recordings by students on the options subjects they are studying
- A link to complete the options form (which will be open after the options evening). Following the Options Evening, you will complete the form with your child, giving the subject preferences.
